Young Artist Gold Solo Competition
Along with the numerous competitive categories the SDFG Spring festival offers to local flutists in the San Diego area, our Young Artist Gold Competition is, for the first time ever, holding a recorded preliminary round. The Young Artist Gold Solo Competition is open to any flute player who is a member of SDFG and is under 29 years of age by the date of the festival. Persons wishing to participate in this competition may join SDFG upon entry and do not need to live within the Greater San Diego area. Recordings should be performed with either a live accompanist (preferred) or an accompaniment software program such as "Smart Music." Performances must be unedited. Those chosen to move on to the final round will perform the same repertoire live in San Diego at the festival. The festival's featured guest artist will be on the adjudication panel as well as qualified faculty from the San Diego area. Finalists will agree to perform at the festival at their own expense.

The first prize is $500, second $250, and third place will receive $100. More...
