Over the past few weeks, we have been closely monitoring guidance from the local health department and the CDC to ensure the health and safety of all our participants in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. More recently, universities across the country have been taking measures to reduce the opportunity for this virus to spread on their campuses. Changes have happened rapidly, with situations changing by the hour. Unfortunately, Point Loma Nazarene (our venue) has let us know that they aren't allowing events with more than 100 people on their campus through mid-April.
Instead of cancelling the Spring Festival entirely, the Board has decided to move forward with an innovative new format for this year’s event so participants can participate virtually instead of in person. We know that many of you look forward to our festival each year and hope that you will be able to join us online for a series of workshops on April 5th. A full schedule and details on how to attend will be available in the coming days.
If you have already purchased a ticket to attend the Spring Festival as a non-competitor, your purchase will be refunded in the coming days. Competitors have been emailed separately with plans for continuing these competitions in a new format where applicable.
We’re excited that by moving to this online format on April 5th, we’re able to reach even more people than we could have previously. I look forward to our next in person event where we can come together as a flute community. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
